Dose progression

Wegovy dose progression and titration

The official label describes a once-weekly escalation schedule. Your prescription may not follow every step below, but dose-change dates are useful to keep in your history.

0.25

Start: 0.25 mg once weekly

The label describes 0.25 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks.

0.5

Then: 0.5 mg once weekly

After 4 weeks on 0.25 mg, the labeled schedule increases to 0.5 mg once weekly.

1

Then: 1 mg once weekly

After 4 weeks on 0.5 mg, the labeled schedule increases to 1 mg once weekly.

1.7

Then: 1.7 mg once weekly

After 4 weeks on 1 mg, the labeled schedule increases to 1.7 mg once weekly.

2.4

Usual maintenance: 2.4 mg once weekly

The labeled maintenance dose is 2.4 mg once weekly; some plans may use 1.7 mg as maintenance.

What to write down

A tiny checklist is enough

Keep only the details that make your Wegovy history easier to read later. Everything else belongs on your prescription label, Medication Guide, or with your clinician.

Date/time

When you actually took the dose.

Dose

The amount you were prescribed to use.

Site

Abdomen, thigh, or upper arm if site history matters.

Missed/late note

What happened when the weekly schedule was not clean.

Opened/expiration dates

Opened date, expiration date, and any storage concern to ask a pharmacist about.

Common questions

Wegovy questions worth answering clearly

Short answers for common tracking questions. For medical decisions, use your prescription label, Medication Guide, pharmacist, or clinician.

The label describes 0.25 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks, followed by stepwise increases about every 4 weeks until maintenance dosing.

Reference only Ask your clinician

The label describes once-weekly dosing. If your schedule changes, write down the new weekly day and keep injections separated according to your prescription instructions.

Reference only Ask your clinician

For a single missed injection, the label uses a 5-day window and the timing of the next scheduled dose. If two or more consecutive doses are missed, ask your clinician how to restart.

Reference only Ask your clinician

Labeled injection sites include abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, with site rotation when injecting in the same body region.

Reference only Ask your clinician

Track the selected dose strength and when it changed, especially during escalation from 0.25 mg through maintenance dosing.

Reference only Ask your clinician

Follow the storage instructions that came with your prescription and ask your pharmacist if anything is uncertain. Track expiration dates and supply details for review.

Reference only Ask your clinician

A clean history is usually more useful than scattered notes: dose changes, missed or late doses, injection sites, supply changes, weight trend, and any notes you want to discuss.
